Description

The Islamic building is well qualified with rich various decoration constructions of different shapes. This appeared distinctly during The Abbassid Age and the centuries that followed. The basic problem of the research is the shortage of information regarding these typical decorations in the Mosques during the first Abbassid Age. The research has applied the supposition that says that there is a deep harmonious relation between the variety of plants decorations and the development of Mosques designs in the Abbassadian periods. The research aims to define the various types that appeared to reach to a well united decoration during that period.This study includes three main chapters in addition to the introduction. The first chapter includes the theoretical part that defines the decoration, its contents, types and the meaning of decoration in Islamic building. The second chapter contains the practical part, studying some examples of decorations in Iraq especially in the Mosques and palaces of Samara city and the Mosque of Al-Imam Al-Adam Abi-Haneefa Al-Numan in Baghdad. The third part includes the results and recommendations relating to decoration in building
