Al-Istiqlal Great Mosque in the district of Murung is the largest mosque in Murung Raya Regency and one of the most popular icons in the entire Murung Raya Regency, Central Kalimantan, Indonesia. This great mosque is located on Jendral Sudirman Street, in the district of Murung, Murung Raya Regency.
The architectural style of the Al-Istiqlal Grand Mosque was not initially bound by a particular mosque construction style. The designs flowed while studying the many arts and architecture of large mosques, such as mosques in the Middle East and other grand mosques throughout the archipelago. The architectural style that was formed in the process of building this mosque was an Arabic architectural style with a local touch typical of the Dayak community which can be seen from the colour patterns on the dome of this mosque.
Al-Istiqlal Grand Mosque has a building area of ​​5,929 m². This grand mosque can accommodate as many as 7,000 to 8,000 worshipers. This mosque has four minarets on each side. This mosque also has five domes with the main dome located in the middle and the other four domes above each of the mosque’s minarets
