The Mosque resembles the official and Largest Mosque in Dubai wherein the Main Events to be carried there such as Eid Prayers, Religious Celebrations and others.
As the new Mosque is completed it was named “Sheikh Rashid Bin Said Al Maktoom Mosque” in order to honor the late Sheikh RahidAlMaktoom being a pioneer in Dubai’s development and growth.
The Mosque was built in Zabeel 2nd in Dubai, UAE. It can accommodate 5,500 worshippers male and female inside the Mosque. The number can reach 20,000 by using the external arcade as prayer area.
The concept of the design is the resurrection of the MamlukeStyle into a modern designby using present available materials
The challenge for the interior design was to reflect the four aspects ” Strong, Unique, Enriched and Unity in Design, the aforesaid Four principles are the essence of Creativity.
The Strength was born from the sternness and austerity of the Islamic Traditional Designs.
The Uniqueness was driven from the mixing of the Abbasid and Mamlooki Elements and Modern Script.
The Enrichment came from the variety of design, shapes, colours and ornemantation to combine the Marble, coloured wood, transparent marble, MOP, Gypsum and Wood in harmonized result…
The unified design was embodiment and incarnation of the distribution of the shapes in the ceiling and the surrounding boarders that embrace the walls and unifies the ceiling and walls in one body.
